Dramatically Extend the Shelf Life of Fresh Fruits and Vegetables
A simple little sachet thrown into a fruit or vegetable bin can extend the life of fresh produce by days and weeks. It’s a product that has been used by the commercial grocers and transporters for over 30 years and is now being made available to the public for the first time.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 16, 2009 – Phoenix, Arizona – Produce Freshies™ is the newest product on the market that can extend the shelf life of fresh produce and it is extremely easy to use. The product consists of small sachets that are simply dropped into the vegetable or fruit bins in your refrigerator. They can also be placed in a fruit bowl on a kitchen counter as well as placed amongst the greenery in your floral arrangements. Each powerful sachet lasts at least three months. It’s that simple.
Everyone knows a diet rich in fresh fruits and veggies is a healthier way to live. Unfortunately, Americans throw out at least 25% of the fresh produce they purchase because it has gone bad! This averages out to $600.00 of food per year per family. We have developed a product that can dramatically reduce the waste. Produce Freshies™ will extend the shelf life of fresh fruits and vegetables by at least twice the amount of time and often times much longer
Fruits and vegetables give off a natural ripening hormone called ethylene. When ethylene is trapped inside a refrigerator it builds up to levels that are toxic to green leafy vegetables causing fruit to ripen at an accelerated rate. Hence, the produce has spoiled before a consumer even has the chance to eat it. Grocers love it because the consumer keeps coming back for more! But now the problem of spoilage can be dramatically reduced. Produce Freshies™ will absorb the ethylene gas and convert it to harmless water vapor and CO2. Freshies keep produce crisp and fresh for much longer.
When developing Produce Freshies™, we kept the environment in mind and created a total “Green” product. There are no plastic components, no plastic containers or plastic bags that have to be washed and re-used. One unique feature of the product is that after three months when the pellets inside the sachet begin to lose its potency it turn into "organic fertilizer." So consumers can even toss the expired contents into their house plants or herb garden. The ingredients give plants a boost! The remaining paper is FDA approved and the ink used on the sachet is both Organic Material Review Institute listed (OMRI) and FDA approved.
One little miracle sachet thrown into a refrigerator bin can now dramatically extend the life of your fruits and vegetables. It is that simple to use.
